Much of our work over the past 15 years has been for the entertainment industry, small businesses and direct marketing. We specialize in graphic and web design, branding, corporate identity development, marketing and advertising. Our focus is on providing our clients with small, personal and agile teams specifically suited to their needs. The core group of graphic design, frontend and backend develpers has been together for over 10 years. In addition, copywriters, video editing, and other specialty services are brought in to suit the specific needs of the client.
Design Idea's extensive portfolio includes projects for Disney, Elektra Records, Target, McDonalds, Disney, Guthy-Renker, Dancing with The Stars, Coca-Cola, Universal Studios, Celebrity Shopping Network, FOX, Proactiv, and Sprint, along with many individual entertainers, management teams and production companies.
Tina Howland is Design Idea's lead creative and principal. In addition to running Design Idea I work on free-lance projects, consult, and am an Adjunct Professor in the Graphic Design department at Mt. San Antonio College.
I started my career as an illustrator and set designer before moving into web and graphic design. Before opening Design Idea, I worked at top studios and agencies as an illustrator and set designer. Early work included projects for Sam Goody, Hollywood Athletic Club and Universal Studios, TV Guide, Hollywood Athletic Club and Vanity Fair. My iconic King Kong can still be seen hanging off a building at Universal City Walk.
Later agency work includes the entertainment powerhouse DNA Studio, specializing in creating websites for the music, television, and movie industries. At Vendare Media, a direct marketing agency, she was a finalist in the Caples International Award Competition for Excellence in Direct Marketing Creatives.
